Polished Concrete Flooring

Polished concrete is a great way to protect and maintain the existing concrete floors. When performing concrete floor polishing we prepare the existing floor by repairing cracks or other imperfections, grinding the surface to remove any residue, loose concrete, and to ensure a level floor. From there, clients choose the level of sheen and aggregate exposure. This gives polishing concrete a level of customized design. We utilize hardeners and sealers during the polishing process which allow polished concrete floors to be a durable and long-lasting finish.

A polished concrete floor is a low-maintenance solution with minimal upkeep, as well as the option to repolish the surface again to bring back lustre after years of heavy traffic for very little cost. This makes polished concrete one of the most economical and sustainable solutions for an existing concrete floor, or a new build, especially when selecting flooring that is meant to last long term. With a similar appearance to polished concrete, grind and seal projects offer a similar end product that can be installed with a quick turn-around time. The grind and seal follows a similar preparation of repairing cracks, sloping, or other issues with the existing substrate and grinding to a level surface. Instead of going through the phases of hardening and polishing, we apply a clear polyaspartic epoxy coating over the existing substrate. If the goal to achieve a beautiful polished concrete floor seems out of reach due to a poor quality existing substrate or a space that isn’t currently level, there are still great solutions to reach your end goal! A self-levelling product can be installed after prep, coating over the existing surface, with as little as a 9mm increase, this option can even be installed without a discernible difference to the height of the existing floor, and can be feathered to level with adjacent surfaces. As quick as 24 hours post-installation, PCTs can then be polished in the same way that an existing substrate would be polished and sealed. PCTs are available with and without aggregate added, to suit the preferences of the client’s design.
